Introduction

The capital of Qatar, Doha ranks at number 7. It offers a high quality of life with world-class amenities, high safety standards, and a vibrant cultural scene particularly following the World Cup coupled with same low tax, good schools, healthcare and islamic infrastructure that are found in the rest of the Gulf. The cost of living is similar to the UAE but the economy is diversifying so there are increasing numbers of expat jobs. Long-term immigration is even more challenging than the UAE with residency by investment costing over $1m.

Moving There

Citizenship: Qatari citizenship is challenging to obtain and generally reserved for those with strong ties to the country. More information is available on the Qatar Government website.

Residence: Qatar offers a residency program for investors. To qualify, investors must purchase property worth at least USD 1 million. Further details can be found on the Ministry of Interior website.

Work Permit: Work permits can be easily obtained with sponsorship from a company in Qatar. Following a medical examination, your employer will apply for your Work Visa. Typical processing times range from 1 - 2 months.

Relocating: We recommend using Move One Inc. for comprehensive relocation services, including visa assistance, home search, and settling-in services.

Recommended schools include Doha College and Qatar Academy.

Healthcare: The healthcare system in Doha includes public hospitals and numerous private hospitals providing high-quality care. Private healthcare can be expensive, with consultation fees ranging from QAR 100 to QAR 500 (approximately $27 to $137). Recommended hospitals include Hamad Medical Corporation and Sidra Medicine.
